Parent Information -Tips on how to set up your own parent support group

• Prepare a simple poster with information on what the group is about and how to contact you (I would recommend a telephone number only )
  
  
• Ask your speech therapist if they would pass on information about your new group to any parents who may be interested.
  
  
• If you take your child to a speech therapy clinic ask if you can put a poster on their Forums.
  
  
• Ask your local Dr's surgery if they would put up a poster on their Forums.
  
  
• If your child is school age let the school special needs coordinator know about the group and ask if they would pass on information to parents who may be interested.
  
  
• Let your health visitor know about the group.
  
  
• Use your local newspaper, they sometimes advertise local events / groups for free.
