Introduction

This simple resources will help you to teach your child about fractions. Whole, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 1/7, 1/8.

• Coloured fraction lines (as shown above) - to download as an Adobe acrobat .pdf file.
• Blank fraction lines (as shown below) - to download as an Adobe acrobat .pdf file.

Activites

• Cut out each of the strips in the coloured fraction line sheet - use these to compare fractions e.g.
  • is 1/3rd bigger or smaller than 1/2?
  • How many 1/4s are there in 1/2?
• Use the blank fraction line sheet, cut out each of the lines then - ask your child to eg colour 1/2 of the line purple, or colour 4/6ths of a line green etc
