speech delay in my 2 and a half yr old

Hope you can help. Been told my son has speech delay problems due to his low tone. I've done the Chatterkids programme but at the moment I'm in limbo while waiting for an appointment to come through. My health visitor has been no help so I've taken steps myself and looked for resources online.  So far I've found some phonic exercises and a great game to help with his speech but am looking for any advice/tips,etc
